My experience at Mark Twain has been a great one after more than a year and a hald. If there's ever something that needs to be checked or fixed in the apartment the office has been prompt to send one out. Our apartment is very spacious and the area we live in is honestly very calm.

Mark Twain is a great place to take your family and stay long term. Aside from the basics that apartments can provide, their management is good at responding to any concerns and needs that we residents have. Pricing is still the best for the best apartments and area. I appreciate Trish, Joyce, Adrian, Todd and the rest of their team that keep this complex neat and family safe.

Lived her for 4 years with my husband, apartment is super cute office staff have a great response time. Maintenance is AMAZING! anything that happened which was usually just minor repairs. They respond usually same day if not next day for sure. Very quite perfect location close to everything, would 100% recommend!

Trish has been so great to work with. Both ladies in the office are so sweet and so helpful. I am so grateful to them for their kindness and wonderful hospitality. They say they love their job! I can tell! They love helping people. We've been renting for almost a year and want to sign a new lease. It's such a great location! It's so beautiful there (right next to the Jordan River). There are lovely walkways and paths making it truly heavenly! I can't believe that it's so affordable! I hope we'll be there until we're in the market for a house. It's perfect for our needs!

I lived here for 2.5 years before moving. Here are the pros and the cons: PROs: + You can walk to a nice area along the Jordan River. + The kitchen has a window over the sink, which provides a lot of light. There is also a lazy suzan, which I appreciated. + Large apartments + Good management company. The two main ladies at the office have been there for a long time. Things seemed well-run and maintenance was always responsive. + 24-hour access to the laundry room. + One covered parking spot is included in the rent. CONs: - In the one-bedroom apartments, the bathroom can only be accessed through the bedroom. - Apartment inspections are twice per year. You are not told the day or even the week when they will happen, just the month. When you know that two months out of the year someone can enter your apartment, it takes away from the "this is my home" feeling. - Next to trailer park. One thing to note, the complex is split by a road. The part east of the road is larger and has most of the amenities. It's busier and noisier. It's also the only side with some three-bedroom apartments. The part west of the road is smaller and quieter.

My wife and I moved in 3 years ago and love it here. It’s quiet and as apartments go it is relatively inexpensive. The maintenance and office is great. If there is a problem it takes no more than an hour to get a response. Most of the time within 15 min.

I lived in a two bedroom upgraded apartment with my sister for 2 1/2 years. We absolutely loved it here. The staff was always super friendly, and anything that needed to be fixed was attended to right away. You couldn't ask for a prettier part of the jordan river trail conveniently located behind the complex. I live at San Moritz now, a luxury apartment, and I have to say, I do miss living at Mark Twain and may consider looking at living there again after my lease ends. You don't know what you have until you live somewhere else. I do admit, things fell apart quite frequently, but that is going to happen with an old apartment. Parking, can also be tricky, but I always found a stall, and it wasn't too far of a walk. The second bedroom is ridiculously tiny. But if your roomate is gone all the time, or a child, you might be ok. This place may be better for a single resident. For the category of apartments you are looking at, Mark Twain is the way to go.

Thank you for your review. We have a $30.00 application fee for everyone over the age of eighteen. Our deposit is $350.00 for one and two bedrooms and $400.00 for the three bedrooms. If you have anymore questions we would love to have you call or stop by. Thank you.

I have lived here since May, what intrigued me the most about this complex is that it is right next to the Jordan River and Murray trail. As a runner that is huge for me and my dog, I take running with me. Not only are they very pet friendly but the entire complex is lit up at night so it is very nice and convenient when I have to take my dog outside when it’s dark. I haven’t had to call them for any maintenance until today and they took my request pleasantly. The office staff is always pleasant and great to work with.

Love this place... Huge apartments. I have been looking to move due to some personal issues of safety but I simply can't find any that would match this place. I haven't had to call maintenance for anything at all. Which is amazing. But the maintenance is amazingly friendly. Anytime they are out n about. My only complaint would be my upstairs neighbors and their constant arguing and stomping but that's apartment life for you and my kids aren't always the quietest either. Lol Everyone has been amazingly friendly especially with my son having some behavioral issues and us being homebodies. I recommend this place to everyone.

    MaintenanceSafetyCleanliness

This is my first month here at Mark Twain so I will be giving my summer review now and winter review when the time comes. This one is the most significant. Management: The ladies in the office whom manage this establishment are as transparent and helpful as can be. They also live on site, so they truly care about the tidiness of the property, safety of the fellow residents, and the frequency of apt renovations. These ladies made me feel like I found lost relatives and welcomed me and my girlfriend with open arms and a better living situation. We told them the problems we had at our previous apt complex and they we shocked that they haven’t been shut down. They make sure to keep living standards above the bare minimum the law requires. Maintenance: the team Mark Twain has for maintenance is more than what you’d expect. They are efficient, clean, respectful, friendly, and don’t use the phrase “that’s not my job”. I say this because the dryer hookup broke when I was installing the flex connection. Maintenance showed up in 3 days. Again: THREE DAYS. Not two weeks. And not only did he fix the hookup...HE CONNECTED MY DRYER TO IT. That’s service I value, because it isn’t his responsibility to hook up my personal appliance and put it nicely against the wall, but he did and I appreciated that little extra effort. Maintenance also had notes they leave on your door when they enter to update you on whether they have entered the premises and when they will be back or if the work has been completed. Excellent. No need to run around asking for updates. Pests: none. Get used to it because it’s hard for me to. My last place has mice and roaches regardless of how clean we were. This place takes pest control more seriously than they do about getting your rent money. Parking: you get a FREE covered parking spot in front of your apartment. That’s a $20+ value. Also, uncovered parking is vastly available, my girlfriend now can park in front too because of how high the availability is. Pool: the pool is well taken care of, many chairs to use, and the residents here have better manners not to pee in it unlike the last. Get ready to actually want to use the pool and not have that thought on your mind! Also, this place has a hot tub too! Perfect if you have sore muscles all the time. Laundry room: I personally have a washer/dryer hookup. However, I thought I’d give it a chance and see what’s up while my dryer hookup was under maintenance. The place doesn’t look older than a decade. You have the choice of both coin and card payment and never have to wait for an open machine. All look clean and well maintained. Tennis/basketball court: no glass or trash on the court and looks inviting to use. Will be using once it cools down a little more. Animal friendly: dogs are welcome here. There are areas to especially take them to defecate and bags to use. Please bring your dogs, my girlfriend wants to pet them. Jordan river: unrelated to the actual property, but worth mentioning that between the river and the property is a scenic trail for cyclists. Also a bridge. Residents: everyone’s favorite part of apt living. All sarcasm aside, I took the liberty to meet my neighbors both next and below me. Very nice people and you can’t hear each other due to the well made firewall between the two and padding for the floor. Literally my downstairs neighbor told me he didn’t know I even moved in and told me to live my life. Besides them, the residents mixed around my complex are all friendly. We all share the same feelings it seems; coming from a place that was terrible and assuming at $1049/month it would be the same anywhere else. Not here. And I believe that’s a main reason everyone here is so nice to each other. Summary: live here. Be my neighbor, and join the rest of us who are trying to save money to buy a house while also not getting stepped on by management or in fear of violence from your surroundings.

Thank you for the wonderful review. We really appreciate you.

I lived here off and on for 10 years. I love the office staff. Joyce and Trish are the best. I had an issue with a neighbor and they took care of it. Whenever I had a maintenance issue it was almost immediately checked on and fixed. Only thing I have an issue with the apartments is they are not sound proof. That is apartment living in general. The rent was so reasonable. In Utah these days you hardly find a place where you less rent for more square feet. Mark Twain I was paying under a thousand for 1100 as ft. They are right next to the Jordan Park trail which was nice to take my dog for a walk.

We absolutely love Mark Twain. Managment is always available and super kind. (We even get holiday cards) Maintenence is quick and almost always available on a moments notice. We've been here for 2 years now and just signed our lease for longer. We have recommended and still recommend this place to everyone. (My brother-in-law and his wife are moving into a unit this month) I know there is a sea of negativity in the comments, (which I truly dont understand) definitely come live here, you won't be disappointed. :)

I have lived here for one year and love, love, love, love, love it! Pet friendly, spacious quiet apartments, multiple playgrounds, right by the parkway, location cannot be beat. We looked at dozens of apartments in the area, Mark Twain gives you the most for your money. It's a no brainier, choose here. Maintenance is fast and friendly, management ki d and non invasive. No bugs, and they offer services if there are. Grounds are beautiful, and with lots of pet stations your dog and your kids can both freely run around. We love the pool! Need a home in the area? You found it. We are planning to renew until we can save up for a house. The last apartment you will ever need.

    MaintenancePests

Kinda frustrated about the inspections because they come whenever they want within the month. We have to keep our two cats couped up in the bedroom when we aren't home out of fear of them escaping during the inspection. We have also had Travis the exterminator here every other week for about 2 months, which was very inconvenient. Luckily we have not seen any bugs though, and I'm glad they are on top of it. On a really good note, the first day we moved in, we noticed our heater fan would not turn off when the heater was off, I called the emergency line around midnight and Joyce came out within 30 min! She looked it over and brought the repair man out who was there within the hour! He worked on it for about an hour (which we stay up late anyway so it's not a problem) and we had a nice conversation with Joyce who stayed there until he was done. They have been very attentive to us so far and pretty friendly! The only things I wish I could change: I wish you could set up a time for inspection (at least like a week timeframe instead of a month) I wish there were not so many smokers in my building because they leave a can of used cigarettes right outside the walkway. (Gross) ( which management can't change anyway.) Overall, I like living here so far, very well kept and I love how much lighting the walk ways have.

    Management responded

We can enter for inspection at anytime, however we do not enter unless it is our semi-annual inspections which we put out notices for. We inspect if we receive resident complaints as well.

I use to live here a long time ago about 6 or 7 years ago. From when I lived here. Management did a good job on the volume of noise from neighbors. People Smoking and my place smelling like it was never a issue. Management did good job on trash and litter and smoking buds on the ground. They followed up on giving finds to residents who didn't follow the rules. all apartment Should do but at least mark Twait followed there rules they put in there lease. Maintenance was able fix things mostly the next day never had wait too long most the time longest I waited was three days witch really fast I think. Better than Im living now. Only thing I didn't like really was having to walk out to dumb trash and no washer and dryer in unit there only a laundry facilities. But the laundry room was always clean. I never had problems. The pool was bit pack in summer during the day. Greatest thing also no bug problems ever. I hope they haven't went down hill since then. Spacious but bit pricey.
