Edit- 6/4/26 Just wanted to give a big shoutout to the maintenance team, especially Vince! Vince has worked on some minor maintenance issues we have had recently and he is always a delight. He always addresses all of my concerns and does thorough repairs. We moved in the beginning of this month and we have been very satisfied with everything so far! We had a small issue with our toilet and less than 5 minutes after reporting it we had a very nice maintenance guy come to fix it! Everyone in the leasing office and any member of the maintenance crew we have met have been very kind, respectful, and accommodating. We swam in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub before it got too cold for the kiddos and we were very pleasantly surprised how clean and well-kept the pool and hot tub were (: They keep the grounds very clean, and we love how close it is(walking distance) to so many stores and places to eat. Definitely recommend living here ! As a side note, I have read all the negative reviews and it sucks that people had negative experiences living here, but it sounds to me like a lot of those experiences are very typical of apartment living.

I stayed at Santa Fe Cottonwood for 1.5 years, and overall it was a great experience! The location is great with easy access to food and shopping, not to mention being less than 10 minutes away from the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and access to a two great pools in the summertime (a major factor in my reasoning for extending my lease 😅). A few of the other highlights include the ease of working with the front office, who made my 6 month lease extension as smooth and painless as possible. In that same vein, I also want to give special kudos to David, who made my move out process far less stressful than it would have been otherwise (allowing me extra time to remove some belongings that I missed on my initial move out)! Generally, I found this group to be very reasonable and level headed. Out of all my SLC apartment stays, of which there are 5, this has been my favorite.

Jasmin has been so helpful to me during my move to Santa Fe. Moving here in comparison to my last apartment has been night and day. The office is easy to get ahold of, they are all great at communication and make sure that I had all I need and all my ducks were in rows. Moving is stressful but Jasmin and everyone at Santa Fe make it way easier. Thank you!

Love my apartment here. Maintenance is really responsive to any issues with the space, and the people in the leasing office are very kind and responsive as well. Really love the gym here, and the two pools one of which is open year round. There are lots of friends that go to my daughter's school, and my neighbors are nice. What more could you ask for?

I love it here at santa fe of cottonwood . it's super close to all kinds of things shopping, lots of restaurants, hiking, and skiing and the best part is the staff is super friendly .and maintenance is pretty quick about fixing things !

Alexis took us on a tour of two apartments. She was so great and personable. We found my brother the perfect apartment.

We received a tour a couple weeks ago with Letty, she was very informative and told us everything about the place including all the fees, etc. She answered all of my questions as my husband and I have never been on a complex before, she was very polite and quick to answer all questions. We applied and got the apartment we wanted. Anytime I have called or emailed them with questions they were quick to respond and gave me clear answers. We haven’t moved in yet, but my husband and I are looking forward to it. This establishment seems clean, friendly, and prompt on getting issues resolved in a timely manner. We are so excited!

I would give Santa Fe 100 stars if I could! I have been living here for multiple years, and I have loved every second of it. Especially once the management that we have now took over! I am constantly surprised at how quick maintenance requests are being filled and how kind the staff is. The property is beautiful and well maintained, the floriculture and cleanliness stand out immensely. I absolutely love living here, and I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. Shout out to Letty, because she is AMAZING and helped me through some lease changes that I was having and I came into the office almost daily for a week. Despite the number of residents she works with, she always greeted me with a smile, remembered all the details of our previous conversations, and patiently answered every one of my questions… even when I was probably being a little over-thorough (and maybe a bit annoying haha). Overall, this complex has been such a blessing for me and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I highly recommend Santa Fe to anyone looking to find a place that feels like home!!

My friend and I had a great experience when Brayden took us on a tour. We viewed two different units, both seemed to be in amazing shape. Due to circumstances we aren't able to move in yet but as soon as we have the opportunity, we both agreed Santa Fe is at the top of our list.

After years of living outside large complexes, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with this one. The property is consistently well-maintained—clean grounds, neatly kept landscaping, and regularly emptied dumpsters that prevent any trash buildup. The environment is quiet and orderly, and the two pools and gym facilities are always clean and operational. While the interior reflects the age typical of most rentals, it remains functional and well-kept. Communication with the office staff has been clear and proactive, especially regarding planned summer activities, all of which have been communicated well in advance. Special recognition goes to Letty for her exceptional professionalism. She managed to streamline my application and move-in process within a single day, demonstrating efficiency and dedication that exceeded expectations and provided some kindness and compassion in a very dark time of my life. She will forever have my gratitude.

I just moved in a couple of days ago, but the experience has been great! Brandis and Alexis helped me get approved and moved in within just a few days of me reaching out. Also shout-out to Jay, who came and upgraded my kitchen faucet to a brand new one!

These five stars are for the leasing agent Taylor. Taylor is amazing! She is the MOST understanding, supportive, and friendly leasing agent in the whole complex. Every time I went in or called she remembered me and would put effort into helping me solve my issues. I did not see the same energy from the rest of the agents and truly want to praise Taylor for being as awesome as she is.

This property is great, Taeler especially! We were very informed about our options and also received some tips on making it more affordable too! We had to switch our apartment choice which sucked at first, but they kinda upgraded us a little actually so I’m even more excited to move in finally! We are low income and still ended up with a great apartment and they are upfront about everything!

I was in the need of a quick move in; Taeler and the management team did a great job of expediting my application. They answered all my questions and were able to get me moved in within 24 hours of my application . The location is excellent and is perfect for anyone looking for a reasonably priced apartment in Cottonwood Heights . The unit I selected has been recently renovated and has everything I need . Great service overall .

The office staff is extremely friendly and responsive, as of just moving in their maintenance team has updated and fixed multiple items within the apartment. The environment here is very welcoming and pleasant.

I just recently moved into the Santa Fe apartments, and so far I have had a great experience. The apartment is remodeled. It was clean upon moving, and the leasing office made sure that any repairs were done prior to me moving in. Josh was the leasing agent I worked with, and he was so friendly and knowledgeable about the community and worked with me to find the best apartment to fit my current needs. Every interaction I have had with the leasing office and the staff has been great. I did read some of the reviews below, but so far I have had a pleasant experience here. The community is close to a lot of restaurants and groceries stores. It's clean, the grounds are well kept and I am enjoying it. Hope to continue enjoying my experience here.

This place is perfect for young first time apartment owners. Everyone in the office is super inviting and friendly. The pools are well maintained, as well as the gym. I just moved here from california to go to college, and its perfect.

I lived in this complex for two years and had a great experience. During those two years, the management changed and that made all the difference. The old management was bad. The staff is very friendly and always resolved all our issues. They always resolved any maintenance requests quickly. The complex is clean and always well maintained. I recommend it!

The office staff is great especially David. Like all places there’s the good and bad but honestly I’ve told so many people to rent here. The prices aren’t too bad and they have so many amenities, the maintenance is so kind and helpful too. I’m glad I chose this place for my first apartment.

I just moved in from across the country and I have had the best experience the people in the office are so nice and make sure that you are happy and understand everything that’s going on. I’ve also need to make some maintenance request and I’ve had the best experience with Kevin. Kevin is wonderful he is so thoughtful and amazing and he come fast and helps and makes sure that I am comfortable and in the known of everything going on!

I’m very impressed with the current on-site management team at Santa Fe at Cottonwood. When I first moved here, this property needed much needed attention. During Covid it literally fell into worse disarray. The new management team with Doreen Wynn and her team Tanner, David and Josie have literally turned this property around. I’m impressed. They are very responsive to maintenance and the grounds look great. The last 9 months huge turn around. This property was torn with issues and crime for 2 decades and bad management. These apartments are in one of the most upscale parts of Salt Lake and now they are up to par with the neighborhood its in. It’s amazing the change. The reputation of this property has even been changing in views of the community.of Cottonwood Heights. The apartments are very spacious great amenities, even a full 24 hour gym. Much has been remodeled and cleaned up professionally. Great job to the management team at Santa Fe at Cottonwood.

Burger Blunt, idk why but these apartments are superb. Maybe you are the reason they get a one star, because you can’t abide by rules and like to yell at people for no reason. So from what I’ve seen first hand. Anyways, great staff and great rooms!

My wife and I loved working with David. He was enthusiastic but professional, informative but approachable, and did an excellent job matching our mood and energy. When we applied David went out of his way to check on some things that we requested in the specific unit we wanted. I’m surprised this complex isn’t rated more highly. The staff said that it was due to old reviews from when prior management was in control, and from what I’ve seen I agree. The grounds are well-maintained. The dog park looks nice and clean. The exercise room has a lot of equipment and more options than many other places we looked (not just one bench and some dumbbells). The pool that is available year round was also a big plus for us! It’s walking distance to the Target and right around the corner from Trader Joe’s. It has quick access to all of the shops at Fort Union, but it’s tucked away and doesn’t feel busy or exposed. Unfortunately outside circumstances kept us from moving here, but if and when those circumstances change Santa Fe will be top of the list for our next apartment.

I will break down multiple aspects of the complex into different ratings. First, I rate the office staff 5 out of 5. They are genuinely helpful, caring, and hard-working. I never once had any problems working with them, and I required a lot of them, imo. Second, I would say the different apartment levels each get different ratings. I would give my particular apartment (I believe it was low-mid range) 4 out of 5. I would just say that apartment inflation has gone up to a ridiculous degree and you can't get a decent apartment anymore without paying ridiculous rent (which the office staff and others here don't control). Third, I will rate the maintenance staff 1 out of 5. Having worked in maintenance myself and with my experience with other maintenance staffs elsewhere, these guys are generally slow, sloppy, and inexperienced. During my rental, I had a guy help unclog our shower. That's a very simple task. The day day, when I showered, out downstairs neighbors came running up, saying our entire shower was leaking into their bathroom. The guy who was here to unclog our shower completely broke our pipes. Funnily enough, the same guy came back to fix the pipes, and he sat around for a while before calling his manager in to fix it for him. That story pretty much sums up their work. Fourth, deposit returns. I would rate 2.5 out of 5. To start, I was naive enough when I moved in to not take pictures of everything. That's 100% my fault. What is not my fault is that everything that was broken when I moved in, maintenance took out of my deposit for repairs (and honestly, I doubt they even made said repairs). Last, overall cleanliness and upkeep. I would rate 2 out of 5. I would say you could give this category 5 out of 5 if you have no kids and no dogs. But if you have kids or dogs, you are screwed. We have an anonymous friend still living here and she described the dog park and being covered in a thick layer of dog poop. I think that explanation should be sufficient. Also, my car got broken into twice while living here. Once I forgot to lock it. That's on me. The other time my lock was legitimately picked. There is virtually no security. Also, this place used to be known for drugs, but it has been cleaned up a lot. And people keep breaking glass into the swimming pool, making it unusable quite often.

I visited Santa Fe at Cottonwood today to inquire about possibly renting there in the near future and I was pleasantly surprised when I met Carter. He gave me a brief tour of the complex as well as one of your featured apartment units. He was very professional as well as informative. He really created a wonderful experience for me. Thank you so much Carter for all that you do and I look forward to meeting with you again soon.

We've been here for a short period of time, but have had an excellent experience so far. After reading negative reviews about the previous management, we definitely had some concerns. The new management and their maintainence staff have been more than helpful, and very prompt with addressing a couple small issues we had after move-in. We love our newly renovated unit, and the area of Cottonwood Heights is fantastic. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great place to live.

This review is for the front desk/management. I have yet to move in, however I can NOT pass up writing this review. My experience with management and front desk staff was outstanding. Not only was the application process easy, the turn around time for responses/paperwork from the staff was incredible. Gabrielle was the one to help me and I am beyond thankful for her kindness, patience and knowledge. Thank you for your time! Tanner is awesome as well as very helpful and his willingness doesn’t go unnoticed.

I must say, when I moved into these apartments about 7 months ago, I was extremely unhappy with the apartment I walked into. There was old food in the freezer, the apartment had not been cleaned, everything was broken (and I mean everything). I spent a month cleaning the place, my shower broke, my toilet was disgusting. But, the new management that bought out the complex has turned this place around for me. They actually answer the phone. Crazy. And I have to give a personal shout out to the maintenance man Norm. He is the kindest soul and was so helpful and let me know when he was coming and assured me everything would be handled on repairs. Thank you Norm!!!

Shout out to the maintenance guys at Santa Fe. Always nice and super fast :) couldn’t ask for better service I also want to mention in general the new management. They have been extremely helpful in helping me out with some issues I have had lately. They have been patient and took their time explaining things when I had any questions. Transitioning new management is never easy but you guys have been putting in the work!

I cant say thank you enough to Doreen, and maintenance supervisor and his team for coming and helping me during a rough time. The professional level that I see towards the tenants is amazing, very knowledgeable.

Lived here for over a year beginning experience a year and a half ago was really bad the move in process was very easy and quick but the leasung office staff and management turned as well as really horrible maintenance response as of now they have completly got all new staff as well as maintenance they respond within hours and are very good at making sure its done right i suggest living here and will continue my life right here for now its beautiful and quiet...

I have a family member that lives there. Since the new management took over they actually answer the phone. The maintenance are amazing! Hardworking and friendly. I think his name is Norm. Good guys and very professional. My previous star rating was a generous 3, but now it's a 5 thanks to the maintenance team. Good work guys!

My boyfriend and I have been apartment hunting for months now, and every single application we put through just got stepped on and ignored. We saw Santa Fe and wanted it so bad and were so lucky to have representative Mimi with us every step of the way. We exchanged so many emails and she always stayed on top of things and made sure that our application made it through. Me and my boyfriend are young and this is our first renting experience and Mimi was so amazing at explaining how things work and walking us through every step. She was so sweet to us, she is happy to help with everything I ask. She does everything to make things perfect for us. Thank you!!

I just moved to Sante Fe and I'm loving the apartment and all the surroundings. we had a few days to move, so people had to rush to get everything ready. Some things are still being finished, but Mimi and the others guys of office is giving your better to get everything ready as soon as possible. I hope to continue to have good impressions of the condo and everyone and give more stars...

Overall pretty happy with my experience! I had a few complications with my move-out process (move out notice, money owed, etc.) but the staff at Santa Fe and the regional manager (never met her and can't remember her name...) helped me out and I was very happy with the outcome. For any current residents, make sure to fill out your move out notices on time, and don't hesitate to in contact with the property management if you have any issues - they will try to help you, at least that is the impression that I always got. My apartment was really nice. I think it was one of the recently upgraded apartments, and I never had any issues with anything in the apartment. The only thing I wasn't pleased with was how they make you pay for everything they can, and they're not very transparent about it. During the move-in process I was told about the fees that are included in addition to the base rent, but when my first rent was due I was surprised I had to pay for something like common area utilities - which I've never done in any apartment complex I've lived in. Doesn't seem like the best business practice, but like I said, overall a good experience living here.
