How consistent is the rating
Its rating has stayed within about ±0.8★ of its average over time — it moves around more than most buildings we track. (This measures the wobble around the average — the change-point above is the average itself moving.)
Sharpest stretch: fell from about 4.2★ to 1.4★ around May 2022, and has since climbed back. (A different window than the Jan 2025 change-point above — this is the steepest short-term move, that's the sustained shift.)
Measured from the rating weighted by how many reviews back each month, so a single review can't swing it. Sourced, not scored.

Me and my boyfriend have lived here for a year and a half and have loved it. The office staff is very friendly, great at communicating, and understanding. Braxton is also always great and quick about getting maintenance requests fixed. We appreciate all they do for us!

Ascent at Union Square has been such a great place to live, and what really makes it stand out is the team. Janise is amazing, always kind, patient, and quick to help with anything. Janna in the office is super friendly and welcoming, and Braxton in maintenance is the best, fast, reliable, and genuinely cares about getting things taken care of the right way. The management here is on another level. They keep residents in the loop with updates, send helpful reminders (which is honestly so appreciated), and are always responsive instead of just being transactional. You can tell they actually care about the people who live here. The community itself is great too, friendly neighbors, a welcoming atmosphere, and amenities that really add value. The gym, pool, basketball court, and outdoor spaces are all awesome, and it’s the kind of place where you wish you had more time to enjoy everything. Anytime there’s been an issue, whether in the apartment or around the community, the team handles it quickly. That consistency and follow-through make a huge difference and make living here feel easy. Overall, it’s just a fantastic place to live. If you’re thinking about moving to Ascent at Union Square, I wouldn’t wait, spots here go fast, and once you see how well this team takes care of everything, you’ll understand why.

I haven't called Ascent home for very long, my girlfriend and I got here in September. No apartment is perfect, but I would go out on a limb and say that the management here at Ascent, is as amazing as it can get. Janice, our property manager is happy to help with anything and everything she can, she is very enthusiastic and is very excited about the work that she does, she is always so helpful whenever myself or my girlfriend need any help at all, and we're super grateful to have her. Our other favorite person at Ascent is our maintenance man Braxton, he is always super cheerful and always happy to talk to you whenever you approach him, he is very knowledgeable and is very good at the work that he does, any issue that you may have he either already knows how to do it, or has a degree in YouTube University, and does better work contracting professionals that I've seen in the past. I mean this guy knows pretty much everything to do with property maintenance. As for the property itself it is pretty well maintained, apartments are very modern looking, they have a pool, gym, fire pit, and so many other fun things to do around the area. I'm a student right now going to one of the local universities, and I cannot give a higher rating for Ascent, the price is great, the amenities are great, an overall management is the very best. If I could do it again, I would move here in a heartbeat! 100/10 stars

We truly appreciate you being part of the Ascent community and are grateful for your recommendation.

My husband and I loved living here, and we loved our ward! We had no problems with management at all. If there was ever a problem whether it be problems with our apartment, or something going wrong with the whole complex they were on it right away. Braxton does all the maintenance orders, and takes care of Ascent, and he is just amazing, fast, and truly kind. Janise was also amazing if we had any questions or concerns she always answered them. She was also very kind, and patient adjusting to our needs while we lived there; which was greatly appreciated! The amenities are nice especially for the rental price. The gym, pool, basketball court, fireplace, and grill were all great amenities. We honestly wished we took more advantage of the amenities. There was and is nothing bad or wrong with this place. We would definitely live/rent here again. Thank you so much Janise, Braxton for all ya'll have done while we have lived there!❤️

My wife and I love living here!! As opposed to some previous reviews, we feel that the management team here has recently taken immense steps to turn Ascent into a wonderful place to live. Janise, Star, and Braxton are very friendly and professional, and we love working with them! They are so kind, and are always available if we need anything. Although Star is leaving soon and we’ll really miss her. The laundry rooms have recently been updated and are always clean, as are the pool and grill areas. The gym is small but very nice and clean as well, and has everything you need to get a solid workout in. And all this for a very fair price and convenient location. Overall Ascent is a great place to live, we highly recommend it!

The office staff here is absolutely FANTASTIC, and I wanted Redstone Management to know that. When meeting leasing manager Janise Terrill it is obvious that she is experienced in the housing industry. I’ve never had an apartment manager be so quick to answer emails and calls, willing to stay late to give tours, and be knowledgeable on the renting process. She even knew how to handle some of my unique rental situations. This is my first time renting an apartment by myself, and I owe so much of that to Janise for making it happen. The leasing agent Star is also amazing! Only met her once, but she is a super friendly and bubbly person. Star was also incredibly quick at answering emails. Anyways, thank you to the leasing office for being so helpful getting me moved in! The apartment is great so far!

I didn't have much experience with the previous managers, but Hannah and Tayson are doing an amazing job here. We could not be happier. Our maintenance requests are handled pretty quickly, they're very good with communicating with us, and they have tried to be very understanding with the situations that have come up. Have never had a better experience with rental managers. Parking is fine, rent has gone up within reason each year. Would definitely recommend to friends under the current circumstances.

I am in my early 40’s and I’ll say, very vocal about how I feel about things and how I’m treated. This complex has been amazing. They are great about returning texts and getting things serviced through maintenance. I am so comfortable with maintenance I feel comfortable with letting them in my home and I’m single woman who has been through a lot, that’s no easy feat. The office has been awesome about not only doing what I needed and direct communication but also they have created fun events where I could go once a month and meet others in the complex and feel more like a community with my neighbors. I don’t have to worry about an issue here because I know without a doubt that someone will be in that within a reasonable amount of time, be mindful of all the tenants, and make sure my experience isn’t just one where I feel like I’m a renter but this is my home. I know before I got here a family member had told me they read reviews and the dog poop issue and it’s not the apartment complex’s responsibility to be an adult for the tenants who can’t be responsible adults and do that themselves. Many people here have dogs. And I mean many as in more than I can remember their names and I am a huge animals lover but I keep finding that anything that anyone else seems to focus on is their own issue and they need to really think about if they want a place that is going to take care of them or the irresponsible tenants who can’t adult. I feel safe, I feel like they communicate with me, I have never had a challenge they haven’t worked with me on and the office staff I knew one person in there before I moved in and they are so much happier and better than the place we used to work together. Things my home. Before I was in a shelter and that was chaos. Here I feel seen for my need, felt because I am safe and heard because there isn’t a single detail I have mentioned in my own anxiety that someone has jumped on to help me feel like the investment I make in this property as a renter isn’t just about putting g money here and a bedroom but it’s my own place, my own sanctuary and absolutely the one place in the world I can be and k ow that everything will be ok, the people around me are ok and it’s so safe I literally after trauma can walk around the streets here and know that I’m gonna be ok, I can work through my own anxiety and heck yeah this is my home and I truely welcome others who are looking for that amazing space to live and work from home or live and study or live and just have their lives to be in sync with tha amazing and well kept beautiful property that I not only love at put welcome others in my life to come and visit me at and enjoy the space. I will forever be grateful to the people here, from the staff to my amazing neighbors who I can take good to when I make way to much to the people I randomly meet on the street and can look up from my doenward stare and say hello to and I k ow it’s all good. I love it here and plan to renew no matter what my situation is at the end of my agreement because I know they got me and we are a team. Not a controller and controlled person situation. It’s my home, and I haven’t been able to say that in at least a decade.

My husband and I have only good things to say about Union Square. Any reviews from about 18 months ago are irrelevant since the management change. There's lots of married couples living here, a lot of them are going to BYU or UVU. Here's a list of some of the best things about Union Square: -Rent is cheap, goes up about $15-25 every year (because inflation). Rent is paid online. -Water, gas, and internet are covered in rent. You get prorated electric. If you use more than the allocated amount of electric in the month, you'll just pay the difference. We've never paid more than $20 of utilities, which was in the summer when the AC was on all day -Management is working on fixing up the older apartments (replacing the carpet with hard wood floors, new paint and baseboards) -Apartments come furnished (mattress, bed frame, large dresser, kitchen table, chairs, coffee table, couches) -BBQs available + a pool. There's cherry trees around the property -Management is very courteous of your privacy. They send emails for any relevant updates, and only call you when necessary -Maintenance is really quick (24-48 hours). One time the property manager offered to come over for a really urgent matter. I would recommend these apartments for married couples who are going to school or struggling financially. Union Square is one of the cheapest places you'll find in Provo with decent living conditions. There's also cute babies and ESA dogs/cats! Put yourself on the waitlist! Union Square owns pretty much the entire block, so lots of people are constantly moving in and out.

Pros: -VERY good price with all charges included -The rooms are very nice on the inside -We feel like we have plenty of room -New hardwood flooring -Furnished, so we didn't have to buy as much furniture -Close to BYU campus and a Ryde bus stop -Nice laundry facility -Always plenty of extra parking spots in the lot -Right across the street from Joaquin park -Can pay rent online -People in the office are very friendly and they've always answered my calls/emails very quickly Cons: -The complex is littered with trash and not well kept -Although we have always found a parking spot in the lot, the lines are tight Overall, we have had a great experience here and would recommend to anyone!

We’ve had a great experience with management and the apartments. Maintenance issues are resolved quickly and easily, parking is great, and we love our apartment. Management is easy to contact and great at keeping us updated on what they’re doing. We would definitely recommend living here.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019Fees & rentSafety
Great management who is willing to take care of things quickly, awesome location (can walk to BYU campus, the store, the library, or City Center Temple in less than 20 minutes), and even though rent keeps going up, it is still cheaper than most places in the area. Awesome wards and neighbors. However, my husband’s bike was stolen a year ago from the underground parking.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019Maintenance
We have had a great time so far at Union Square. The community is awesome, it’s close to BYU campus and downtown Provo, and we have liked the management. It’s a great deal and for the most part we’ve had few issues. Maintenance is taken care of quickly.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019MaintenanceFees & rentParking
Overall our experience has been great. Maintenance requests are filled very quickly and the management is responsive. You can’t beat the price for a one-bedroom and most come furnished. Some appliances are old but functional and are replaced if not! There is plenty of parking, although it’s tight and the underground can be fairly sketchy with limited light.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019MaintenanceFees & rent
We've loved living here and will probably be here for the next couple years! The apartments are not exactly new-- some of the appliances are pretty old and we've had to put in a few maintenance requests. But we honestly had no problem with that because the new management was SO responsive & timely (often within the day!) with fulfilling our requests, hassle-free. They are also super great at communicating with us about rent, housing updates, construction going on, etc. We are never left out of the loop and we love the transparency. And of course, the price can't be beat, which was the most important to us and it's definitely the biggest reason we've loved living at Union Square.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019MaintenanceFees & rentAmenities
Before we moved here we looked up reviews and they were not great, but I honestly don’t know why! We live at Roberta Linn which is run by Union Square and it has seriously been the best. Our apartment is nice, management is on top of things, things get fixed quickly, the neighbors are awesome, we have access to the union square pool, very reasonably priced, parking structure (there are always spots, SO NICE!) and overall we feel super lucky to have gotten a spot here! We are not moving until we absolutely have to. Great married housing close to BYU!
- ★★★★★Dec 2019MaintenanceParking
Union square has been a good place to live. It is only about a 7 minute walk from BYU. Last summer we got brand new hard wood floors that look super nice. It is furnished which is super convenient as a college student. We had some things break in our apartment but then they were fixed within a day of submitting a request. There is plenty of parking even though it is a little tight (like all of Provo), it’s really nice to have a garage to park in so we don’t have to scrape. The management even left a small Christmas gift for us as residents!:)

- ★★★★★Dec 2019
When I was looking for apartments and came across Union Square I was a little hesitant at first considering some of the old reviews. But we really have had such a great experience here! The management is very responsive with problems and questions, the apartment is the perfect size for a one bedroom apartment, there is plenty of kitchen space, the ward is incredible, it is quiet and secluded, kind neighbors, and the price is unbeatable. If you’re looking for a nice, cheap, 1 bedroom apartment- I definitely recommend!
- ★★★★★Dec 2019Fees & rentMaintenance
My wife and I have been living here for the past 6-months. At first, I was apprehensive to live here as there were lots of bad reviews (any review 1-year or older). However, in my view, I haven't experienced anything negative, particularly things noted in other negative reviews e.g. theft, unresponsive management etc. Positive points are that management is responsive, rent is cheap, quite quiet for being in the middle of Provo, and the location is great. The only reason why my rating is a 4-star, as opposed to a 5-star, is due to some of the furniture / fixtures within the apartment being outdated e.g. bathroom sink, shower, couches etc; however, if you don't mind that, than this place is ideal for a couple.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019Maintenance
My husband and I have loved living here! The front desk is helpful and quick to fix any maintenance requests. The apartment is in great condition and location--really close to BYU campus and UVX station.

I have loved our apartment at Union Square. I know that conditions definitely vary by apartment itself, but ours in US building 1 is very cozy and perfect for just me and my husband. I know the struggle of finding a nice place to move into after marriage, so I'll try to make a useful pro/cons list. I have lived here over two years and plan to for a while longer. PROS: - Working appliances, good sized kitchen- HUGE if in certain apartments like 100, 200, 300 in US building 1, furnished (saves $$ on move-in, can switch out bed if requested) - Great ward, very friendly community - Amazing location for school- walking distance to campus (takes me 10 minutes tops to get to south buildings), also a Ryde bus stop right on corner, park across the street - Always parking available in lot or underground - Management has changed a bit lately and are amazing :) - Online payments available - Relatively quiet; can only occasionally hear neighbors through walls but only if loud or both of us have our windows open. - Very few babies, no pets allowed - Heating/cooling system indoors by vent and thermostat. - Most apartments have hardwood linoleum flooring - Can't beat the cheap rent CONS: - Underground parking especially has seen some crime in my two years of being here but it's gotten better. - There's a bright lamp at our door that brings armies of bugs into our apartment in summer that maintenance has refused to help with. But that's just our apartment. - It was quite dirty when we moved in. Was not even dusted by previous tenants at all and previous tenants lived disgustingly based on the condition. Facility did not clean in between tenants either. **This was old management too, see last note - Internet is by Veracity networks, not super reliable. - No pets, if you want a pet Another note: Management has had a bad rap other the years but has definitely improved. Any review complaining about management from before 2019 I would have agreed with but since 2019 they have been attentive and communicative. In a crisis situation, our fridge broke during a trip and they replaced it within 3 days and even helped compensate for our losses in food. They have started implementing conveniences for tenants like online payments and good maintenance on the buildings and parking lot. Go US management!

My wife and I really have enjoyed Union Square, there aren't many furnished apartments around provo that can beat the price (at least for married housing). Maintenance has been super good about helping to fix problems asap, and no problems with management. Very great place to start out!
- ★★★★★Dec 2019Maintenance
I have loved living at Union Square! It is cozy and the management is great. It’s easy to send in maintenance requests and they respond within a few days. They have some storage which you can pay an extra fee for but you don’t have to (there are limited storage units anyway). We have loved our 1-bedroom apartment and the ward is great!
- ★★★★★Dec 2019MaintenanceFees & rent
Overall, it has been a great apartment for me and my wife. When we moved in there was newly installed hardwood floor and some new furniture. It's close to BYU campus and relatively cheap for Provo. Sometimes it is difficult to get in contact with management, but overall they have been good at getting back to us and quick at responding to maintenance problems.
- ★★★★★Dec 2019MaintenanceFees & rent
My husband and I LOVE living at Union Square! The management is new as of this year, and they’ve done a fantastic job. The maintenance workers are quick at repairing damages (our A/C went out and they fixed it the same day that we submitted the request!) and so far, everything in our apartment has worked wonderfully. Rent is INSANELY cheap for married housing in Utah County, especially for how nice of a place it is. We looked everywhere else before finally snatching one of these apartments. Do yourselves a favor and get on the waitlist for this place. We plan on staying awhile!
- ★★★★★Dec 2019Maintenance
Good place to live. Can be a little slow for repairs and maintenance to the apartments and property but I think they are a little short handed. Since I have been here I have seen they are genuinely making an effort to make improvements so any reviews from over a year ago probably aren't relevant anymore. There is a new guy in the office that is super nice, online payments are now available, finished 90% of landscaping at Roberta Linn, and cleaned up the parking garage. Hope they keep up the good work.
- ★★★★★Nov 2019Fees & rentMaintenance
Great price for a furnished apartment so close to BYU campus, downtown Provo, and bus stops. Put in new floors and painting the walls. Management has been great and helped us on multiple occasions along with great neighbors. We have had no issues and plan on staying here as long as possible and have loved union square.
- ★★★★★Nov 2019
Management has always been helpful and quick to get back to us. The layout of the apartment is very nice. It’s the best married housing apartment I’ve been in thus far!
- ★★★★★Nov 2019Fees & rent
It’s a great apartment for the price. The included furniture is pretty nice (depends on the apartment though). Management has been very helpful in resolving any issues we have.
- ★★★★★Jul 2019
The new office manager, Trevor, is suuuper helpful and kind. He's always on top of everything and does everything he can do to help immediately.
- ★★★★★Jul 2018Amenities
We live here and love it! I literally can't say one bad thing. Neighbors are great. Apartment is great, and amenities are great. I couldnt really ask for anything more. And managment is prompt to resolve problems. It's great:)
- ★★★★★May 2017Parking
We've enjoyed it. ! Awesome ward ! I've had good luck communicating with management on the phone or in person. They've met our needs in fixing things. The lower parking garage does scrape the bottom of your car. ! Awesome ward !
