Overall, the place is okay. Breakfast is not the best, but lunch and dinner are pretty good! They offer a variety of food during those times including dessert, so thats a plus. However, there are some bugs sometimes. I had cockroaches, crickets, ants, ladybugs, etc. Despite keeping my room pretty clean. I think its a structural thing. The place is also full of a lot of people who like to party/ yell but if you keep to yourself or dont mind people at all then you should be okay. Rolando, EJ, and Aurora are AWESOME staff though and they definitely made my experience living here SOOOO much better! They are so sweet, funny, and kind!! Hopefully you run into one of them if you stay here.

My son Venkat has been residing at Castilian since Aug 2025. What makes Castilian Apartments near UT Austin a good place overall is the responsiveness and support from the management team. Ms. Madeline, the apartment manager, is truly exceptional. She is very cooperative with resident requests, responds promptly, and takes action quickly. It’s rare to find a manager who is not only efficient but also genuinely caring and approachable. Her helping nature makes a big difference in day-to-day living, and it’s clear she values residents and their concerns. I’d also like to recognize staff member Mr. Cooper, who is always helpful, polite, and professional. Whether it’s answering questions or assisting with requests, Cooper consistently provides great support. Overall, the management team makes Castilian Apartments a comfortable and well-run place to live. Highly recommend!

I just toured The Castilian, and I really liked it! The location is awesome, super close to campus and lots of places to eat nearby. The common areas are bright and inviting, and the gym looks great. The apartments are spacious and have a nice vibe. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions, which made me feel welcome. Overall, I think The Castilian would be a fantastic place to live! I’m definitely considering it for next semester!

I toured The Castilian with my younger cousin, and we both had a fantastic experience! The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and has a great atmosphere for students. The staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and informative throughout the tour. My cousin absolutely loved it and is now seriously considering calling The Castilian her new home. Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for quality student housing near UT!

Yes the elevators occasionally break down, yes there are long waits for laundry, yes the hot water went out for a week, but I still love this place. Castilian feels like a home. The amenities are great, you get a nice gym and good study areas. Plus, the food is decent. The best part of this place is the people. Really nice food staff and resident assistants. And the best part, I met my amazing girlfriend in the dining hall here.

Writing this after living here for a semester (still have spring semester to go). Here's my breakdown: Pros: - very kind staff - quick maintenance service (I got my A/C vent cleaned the morning after I submitted a request) - our neighbors are super nice, easy to meet people - move-in was great - pretty good food as far as dorms go. Always multiple options and some food left out between meals for people with class. Breakfast is awesome - heating and cooling has been reliable - many nice resident events like free donuts and trivia competing for gift cards - pretty secure imo - key is on your phone - plenty of storage room - fun amenities like ping pong - most of the cons below are found at any dorm Cons: - laundry. I've heard many horror stories of shirts getting burned in the dryer, etc. - dining hall hours on weekends are not ideal. 11-2 and 4:30-6:30, with it closed between brunch and dinner times. - elevators suck, usually at least one of four broken - often loud at night/on weekends (Victory Lap nearby, plus drunk neighbors) - moldy and dusty everywhere, especially bathrooms because of poor ventilation - poor lighting, bring a lamp (esp girls for makeup) TLDR: Overall would recommend, better than most living options and the problems here are found everywhere UPDATE: Second semester has brought new problems. Our floor got a leak in the hallway which we walk past multiple times per day. My shoes were making sloshing sounds because the carpet was totally saturated. It smells not great and is unavoidable to walk past for many residents in my hall. The solution? Maintenance puts out a huge fan that's pretty loud to dry the water. After several weeks, they finally fixed it but it left mold on our hall carpet that was never cleaned. And even better is that the leak has now returned, so I guess they didn't actually solve the problem. Also, the whole building has to be in either heating or cooling mode and sometimes management is slow to make the switch according to weather, leaving residents too hot or too cold and nothing they can do about it (this has always been the case, I just didn't have a problem with it until it was freezing). Would tend to now give a 3.5 star rating, but I'll leave it at 4 because Castilian is probably better than most.
