Atelier Apartments

Amazing location and amenities, bright, modern apartments, helpful staff, and tastefully appointed common spaces. This is a top-of-market building, and in many respects it shows—but it’s not perfect. One of the property’s greatest strengths is its staff. The leasing team—especially Byron, Cathy, and James—have always been incredibly helpful, professional, and responsive. They genuinely care about residents and make the leasing and move-in experience seamless. The concierge and security staff are also consistently thoughtful, courteous, and welcoming. My concerns below are not a reflection on the people working here, but on management’s decisions about staffing levels and building operations. My biggest concern is security. The property does not provide 24/7 on-site security; there is no armed security, and the unarmed security team is only staffed overnight. Given the realities of this particular location, I don’t think that’s enough. The CVS next door is an incredibly convenient amenity, and I’m glad it’s there. Unfortunately, because of the activity it generates, the immediate area also experiences a higher level of antisocial behavior than many comparable luxury buildings in Downtown. I’ve personally been assaulted and repeatedly harassed simply walking to and from the corner, and I’ve witnessed numerous incidents involving open drug use and other disruptive behavior immediately outside the property. For the premium residents pay to live here, management should provide a stronger security presence and take a more proactive approach to addressing issues occurring directly in front of the building. Residents should feel safe coming and going at any hour. My other major complaint is that the recycling chute has been out of service for nearly the entire three years I’ve lived here. Residents have to carry recyclables downstairs to the trash room, which is disappointing for a building at this price point. It’s a relatively small issue compared with security, but after years without a fix, it reflects an attention-to-detail problem that shouldn’t exist in a luxury property. Despite these concerns, this remains one of the nicest apartment communities in Downtown Los Angeles. If management addressed security and basic operational issues like the recycling system, it would be an easy five-star building.

Even though we did not end up renting, I still wanted to share our positive experience touring the community with Jordan and the weekend staff. First, I want to give a shout out to the young woman working at the reception desk over the weekend. She was juggling residents, delivery drivers, and prospective renters all at the same time while maintaining a positive attitude and a smile. It was clear that she genuinely cares about her job and the resident experience. I am sure she is well liked by both residents and her team. She made a great first impression on us. We toured with Jordan, and he was excellent. He did a fantastic job of helping my partner and me find the right fit while making us feel comfortable throughout the tour. He was knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming. The community itself was clean and well maintained. Even on a weekend, there was a full team actively working to keep the property running smoothly. The amenities were in great condition and clearly benefited from the efforts of the onsite cleaning staff. We especially loved the location of the pool and grilling areas. The gym was modern and well equipped, and the rooftop is easily one of the best we have seen in DTLA. The apartment layouts were larger than we expected and were thoughtfully designed to maximize the space. We also appreciated the straightforward pricing. There were no amenity fees or bundled internet packages to worry about. Jordan was transparent about all costs and requirements from the start and was knowledgeable about both the surrounding neighborhood and competing communities in the area. While we ultimately chose not to rent, that decision had nothing to do with the community itself. We had a genuinely positive experience throughout the process. We hope this review helps prospective renters who are looking for a true luxury community in the heart of DTLA. .

Living at Atelier has been a wonderful experience. The pool and amenities are always clean, modern and enjoyable, which really enhances the day-to-day lifestyle here. The staff, specifically Jordan and the rest of the team are consistently kind, attentive and professional; they pay attention to details, follow through on requests and make residents feel valued. Management team, Byron deserves recognition as well they not only maintain the property to a high standard but also continue to improve and add to the overall living experience. They genuinely care about creating a great community. Highly recommend Atelier to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-managed place to live in DTLA.

Almost stepping into my third year living in Atelier. Great apartment, especially after Byron had become the manager. He's great, super helpful, replies to email really quickly, and always fulfills my needs when there's a problem about my unit. Atelier is great with an awesome location for students like me who don't have a car, as Whole Foods is just downstairs, as are Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and Paris Baguette. The front desk is nice as well; it greets people all the time and always calls us when there are visitors. I feel safe living here.

I’ve been a resident at Atelier for the past 2 years, and Byron (property manager) has been great to work with. He’s always quick to respond and helpful whenever any issues come up. Really appreciate the quick response and that he actually follows through on getting things resolved.

Living at Atelier has been a fantastic experience, mostly because of the incredible staff. I had a specific situation with my unit, and management went above and beyond to solve it immediately. They are proactive, friendly, and truly focused on resident satisfaction. The building itself is fantastic, but the service makes it unbeatable.

From the moment I phoned to enquire, through to viewing the flat and helping me with the application, the staff at Atelier were extremely patient and dedicated. I would like to extend my special thanks to Cathy, Byron and Jordan for their help, which made for a wonderful experience.

The manager Bryon was extremely attentive and patient throughout the entire process! He went above and beyond to help me secure a parking spot, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve been living here for a while and it’s been a great experience. The area feels safe, the people in the common areas are friendly, and the staff is very accommodating. The property is well-maintained—you’ll often see cleaning staff keeping everything in great shape. Byron has been especially helpful and does an awesome job taking care of everyone here.

I recently moved out after living here for two years. The building is nicely designed and conveniently located. Manager Will was results-driven and super helpful with my move-out logistics. Maintenance folks were capable and responsive.

This is one of the best leasing office managers I have ever met. He is very nice and always wears a smile whenever I see him. He is more than willing to offer any help to the residents. In a word, he is just great.

I am writing to share my feedback following my recent visit to Atelier as a potential prospect. I was incredibly impressed with the property and found it to have a high level of appeal. From the very beginning, the unique scent in the building set off a wonderful experience. I also cannot get over the spotless condition of the lobby, the amenities, and the property all around. Furthermore, the staff was very friendly and happy to answer all of my questions. I was so pleased to see such a building being taken care of that I wanted to move in right then and there. This property clearly has high potential. Thank you for the excellent tour and for maintaining such a beautiful community.

Been living here for (almost) two years and the experience has been great. It’s been Especially positive since we received our new assistant manager Byron who is very responsible and very professional, and keeps things running smoothly.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with the leasing process and management here. It’s my very first time renting and It went extremely smoothly and securely. My leasing agent was Jordan, he was extremely reliable and patient with me. he was very understanding to my hiccups because this was my first time. regardless he was patient and dependable! I am extremely thankful for everyone’s support.

Jordan is amazing, and the front desk staff are very courteous. The entire apartment is very clean and smells wonderful!

First, Jordan in the leasing office was so helpful, informative and really took the time to listen to everything we wanted in an apartment. With that being said, he showed us apartments that checked all of our boxes plus more! It was refreshing to have someone listen and be accommodating, as opposed to just trying to make you sign a lease. I highly recommend you ask for Jordan to assist you if you plan on touring the atelier to ensure you get all your questions or concerns addressed. Secondly, the building itself was clean, and the units were nice! All of the amenities are great!

Atelier is a beautiful building to live in and lots of changes. Parking lot recently got power washed, security is always patrolling, cleanliness of building is nice. Staff is amazing marquis front desk is always nice to guests and residents . Biron the manager is really helpful and always smiling. Hands down one of the best buildings in dtla.

I want to give a huge thank you to the apartment management team, especially the manager, for their outstanding help and professionalism. When I needed to arrange a parking space but couldn’t complete the paperwork in time, they kindly helped me secure a temporary spot so I wouldn’t be inconvenienced. As soon as the formal process was finished, they immediately notified me with the updated parking information.

Like many residents, my experience with previous management was frustrating with many problems unresolved and lack of clear and timely communication, so it’s encouraging to finally feel heard. Since Byron stepped in as Assistant Property Manager, there’s been a clear and positive change. He’s responsive, patient, and thoughtful in communication, and the improvements around the building, especially with security and amenity cleanliness haven’t gone unnoticed. It’s a great sign of progress, and I’m excited to see continued improvements in our building and community with Will (New Property Manager) and Byron leading the way.

​Just moved to LA three weeks ago! Found my dream spot at Atelier after a quick stint in DTW. Huge shoutout to Cathy and William; the entire team and the door staff are top-tier and so helpful. ​The building is gorgeous and the location is prime. Even though Downtown requires a bit of street smarts, being minutes away from concert venues, grocery stores, and the Metro is unbeatable. That morning light and the view from my windows are everything I needed to start my day right.

I used to live in this building. I had nothing but good experiences. There is a caring manager, and the maintenance of the building is good at all the time..

My husband and I have lived in Atelier for almost three years. Just like any property, there will be things that pop up that can be inconvenient, but I will share that the staff is always on top of it. We can’t even begin to express our gratitude and love for the concierge team and cleaning crew. They have helped Atelier feel like home. From saying hello to our dog each morning, to security ensuring we feel safe, to concierge knowing us by name and remembering small details, it all elevates the experience of living here. We feel truly blessed to have such a great team making Atelier what it is. Aside from the property being stunning and have some of the best amenities that DTLA has to offer, it’s conveniently located in the center of grocery stores and great restaurants. Throughout the last several months we’ve seen an increase of businesses around the area and more families walking throughout the neighborhood. At the end, just with any big city, you need to be street smart and be aware of your surroundings. The few issues we’ve had always get resolved and management does a great job of following up to ensure they are handled properly. They also do their best to host great events for residents. The change in management took some adjustment but we have had the pleasure of getting to meet Edgar and he is wonderful. You can tell he cares about the community at Atelier. Overall, our experience has been great and we look forward to continuing to call Atelier home.

I had such a wonderful experience during my time living at Atelier apartments. The apartment complex is beautiful with modern and upscale amenities. The rooftop jacuzzi and sky deck lounge were my absolute favorite!! The resort style pool and the theater room were also very nice. The complex was always clean, all of my Amazon packages were always stored safely, the front desk staff were always so welcoming and cheerful and the maintenance team responded quickly whenever I placed a service request. In regards to my unit, I loved the floor to ceiling windows, the spacious floor plan layout, the gorgeous bathroom with a dual vanity and huge resort style bathtub, the large led mirrors, the spacious walk-in closet, the upgraded appliances such as the large washer and dryer as well as the large refrigerator and I especially appreciated the thick walls that never let a peep in from any of my neighbors. I will truly miss living at Atelier and I’d definitely recommend atelier to anyone looking to live in DTLA Con: There are many transients “homeless” right outside the complex however this is common in most DTLA areas. The security guards sometimes patrol at night if they are not asleep in their cars. At the very least, I would have appreciated if the security guard on duty sat on the couches at the entrance to the building so they could be near just in case something were to happen at night. Although a fob is needed to enter the front door after hours, there are occasions where people who do not live in the complex attempt to enter in right after a resident has opened the door.

I lived in Atelier for 2 years and I was satisfied with the quality of the apartment and the great and kind service from the management especially from the Manager….Maria. The Maintenances was always quick if I ever had any issues. The Head of maintenance department, Antonio had always been nice and treat everyone like a family!!! Thank you!!! They make me feel like a family during my stay!!! I really recommend this apartment to anyone and would love to come back if I make it back to the area in the future.

Carolyn helped us, my son went ahead and applied the same day as our tour and is getting 6 months free parking and 5 weeks free rent! ****On a constructive note: They need people who will pick up the phone and listen. They seem to need more support and staff in their rental office and front desk. The dog park needs spray to help with the smell.

What a way to end my time living in Los Angeles. Everything is just absolute top notch - design, amenities, service, community (sans the random influencer dweebs bringing weirdoes in to the amenities). Looking back, the standard of living was so high - doesn’t really get much better than this for the money in such an expensive city riddled with overpriced & neglected apartment buildings. Moving in and out was so hassle free, and all of my questions/concerns were handled professionally by leasing/concierge. Absolutely awesome building - I hope it stays that way over the long run and the new management can maintain Greystar’s service quality.

Atelier is fantastic! The Atelier team is simply wonderful to work with. I intentionally waited a few months to post a review as I figured the staff would be great upon my moving in but worried that the level of service and friendliness would wane after a “honeymoon period.” I’m thrilled to write that the Atelier team is as terrific today as they were when I first moved in. Each member of the Atelier team goes out of their way to be helpful and to provide superior service. A few team members stand out: Cathy in Leasing is wonderful! She was incredibly patient answering my millions of questions and did all she could to accommodate my crazy schedule to show me the building. Will (also in Leasing) was awesome and, along with Cathy, stepped in to answer questions and make sure I felt comfortable with the terms of my lease. John, Luis, and Freddy and the entire Maintenance crew are terrific! I have a massive dresser and I needed to temporarily remove some closet doors just to get it inside. Even though it was the end of the day, and they were leaving to go home, John and the team made a special trip to my apartment to help get it done. I am so grateful to them! Finally, a special shout-out to Tamar and Anasha. They (along with everyone mentioned above) bring warmth, personality, and fun to Atelier. They go out of their way to help residents feel welcome. Tamar helped with questions and logistics for my move and made it seamless and easy to get settled. Anasha is incredibly creative in throwing events to bring people together (in a pandemic no less!) and to make tenants feel they are truly part of the Atelier community. She always gives me a heads-up on events - gets me excited for them - and is always open for ideas on how to continue to build an awesome community here. During the events, Anasha and Tamar (along with Will and Rafik – another super cool member of the Concierge team!) work the room – introducing tenants to one another so we’re not just neighbors but actually friends. The Atelier is a special place to live and the crew here is what makes it so fantastic! Thank you Team Atelier!
